Safeguarding Concerns at GIDS
Sonia Appleby lodged a whistle-blowing campaign in November 2019, alleging that because she made “protected disclosures” to her line manager regarding concerns made by GIDS staff, she experienced detrimental treatment. This included clinicians being discouraged from reporting safeguarding concerns to Sonia, and the Tavistock misusing its own procedures to damage her reputation, jeopardising the role of safeguarding within the trust.
Sonia has a Crowdjustice page which is due to close in 16 days.
