Women’s representation
UK constituents who have expressed concerns about women’s rights and safeguarding are being ignored and dismissed by MP’s elected to represent them. Some are reporting being blocked on social media and even being called ‘transphobic’ for raising vital safeguarding concerns. In response to the following tweet 52 MPs, MSPs and MSs were listed.
Judicial review
A judicial review brought by the Centre for women’s justice and EVAW coalition to hold the CPS accountable on the collapse of rape prosecutions has failed today. This is disappointing news at a time when prosecutions have dropped by over half in 2018/19 compared to the average between 2009/10 and 2016/17.
