Support Marion Millar
Marion’s tweet with regards to Police Scotland requesting she attends an interview for “homophobic and transphobic” tweets under the Malicious Communications Act has now been seen by nearly two million people. Despite this, Police Scotland are yet to tell Marion which of her tweets are under scrutiny, or answer her questions about the timing and location of the interview.
Marion has the support of thousands, and women are discussing how we can be there for her on the day of the interview.
Unsurprisingly, Police Scotland are Stonewall Diversity Champions, and Marion’s situation is one of many examples of how institutionally captured our public bodies have become.
Sex Matters are writing to the Committee on Standards in Public Life with regards to “Stonewall Law”. Now would be a great time to sign the letter and encourage your MP to support the call for an inquiry.
Canadian Women’s Prisons
Heather Mason is fundraising to enable effective activism to raise awareness of the sexual assaults and harassment which have arisen as a result of males who identify as transgender being able to apply to transfer to a women’s prison.
Females who identify as men are not allowed to transfer to men’s prisons because it is not deemed safe enough, yet there is no such concern for the many women who will potentially be locked up with dangerous males.
Call for Action
Write to your MP, requesting they support Sex Matters’ calls for an inquiry into Stonewall Law. You could include a copy of Marion’s tweet and the Reindorf report. Sign the letter yourself if you have not already done so.
Support Marion Millar however you can, in advance of and during her upcoming interview with Police Scotland.
Share Heather Mason’s Gofundme page and donate if you are able to.
