Men in women-only spaces
Single sex spaces are crucial for the safety of women and girls, and one of the most damaging implications of the “transwomen are women” mantra is the demolition of these essential services.
According to trans rights activists, any male who says they are a transwoman, is a transwoman, and we have seen several examples of males declaring a trans identity whilst making no changes to their appearance.
To be safe in areas where it is deemed justifiable to segregate by sex, women and girls need to know they can question the presence of a man (no matter how he presents) without being accused of bigotry.
If women and girls are forced to feel like they have to accept transwomen into their spaces, they are being forced to accept any man into their spaces, because there is no way to tell the difference between a man and a transwoman. This completely negates the point of spaces being single sex, and it is an assault on our privacy, dignity, and safety.
With this in mind, political philosopher Holly Lawford-Smith has launched a website to document women’s stories about how their use of female single sex spaces has been impacted by gender ideology.
Despite the website only launching this week, there are already pages and pages of examples which make clear the importance of single sex spaces.
Unsurprisingly, the website has already been targeted and labelled transphobic. Not only have academics demanded the website be removed, but the submission form used by women to anonymously send in their experiences has been sabotaged by hackers.
The suffocating efforts from trans rights activists to shut down women’s voices and experiences is sinister. If they were confident there is no conflict between transgender rights and women’s rights, they would welcome debate so a middle ground could be found. Instead, they continue their attempts to slur and silence us, to the point we cannot talk about reality.
