Single sex facilities in Schools
Single sex facilities should be a right we all have, especially for the safety and privacy of women and girls. Increasingly this is being removed. Some places are even making the female facilities unisex while keeping the male facilities single sex. Single sex toilets are particularity important when it comes to schools. In Ireland new guidance is going to mean only unisex facilities in new school builds and refurbished facilities.
For those in the UK, the Safe Schools alliance has a guide on how you can complain if your child’s school is not providing safe toilet and changing facilities.
For those in Ireland, The Countess didn’t fight for this group have put together an important resource for parents. There are template letters and information on how to lodge complaints to both your child’s school and Minister for Education.

There was positive news on day 1 with the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) saying the original tribunal got it wrong.
