Check Your Schools
Safe Schools Alliance (SSA) have reviewed LGBT+ History Month packs from Stonewall and The Proud Trust and found several safeguarding concerns. For example, the resources explicitly breach the Department of Education guidelines by teaching that it is possible for people to be “born in the wrong body” - a common theme within these organisations’ training documents. There are other beliefs which are taught as facts, such as homosexuality meaning people being attracted to the same “gender” (not sex), and that parents can sometimes be wrong about whether their child is a boy or a girl.
SSA are concerned that the packs groom children into actively supporting things which undermine their rights under the Equality Act 2010. Girls will be disproportionately affected by this.
Policing with Pride?
The LGBT+ Police Network’s Twitter feed has been sharing astonishingly biased and political opinions over the last few days. Not only do they appear to believe that females having to compete against males is something to be celebrated…..
…….but that disagreement with this stance is “hateful”.
Arguably, these break the Police Code of Ethics and, with messages like this, it is no surprise that women are starting to lose trust in the Police.
Fair Play for Women’s Stretch Target
A barrister has been instructed to find a way to stop the Office of National Statistics’ unlawful guidance accompanying the question “What is your sex?” in the Census. This is after ONS, knowing there were doubts over the guidance’s legality, launched the online Census, and are now refusing to take it down. To cover the costs of this, Fair Play for Women have extended their Crowdfunder target by £20,000. Please donate once more, if you are able to. You can even get a Suffragette mug or bracelet in return!
There are seven principles of public life, known as the “Nolan Principles.” They are included in a range of Codes of Conduct across public life and apply to anyone who works as a public office holder. They are: Selflessness, Integrity, Objectivity, Accountability, Openness, Honesty and Leadership. There is a question as to whether the ONS may be in breach of these by launching the guidance early.
