These questions highlight the importance of same sex facilities and sports for girls, tackling sexism and sexual assault, and addressing the way gender identity is taught in schools. This is important at time when the number of girls referred to the Tavistock, the UK’s youth gender clinic has increased over 5000% in less than a decade. Protecting safeguarding and tackling sexism in schools should be a priority for all our representatives.
