Happy International Women’s Day!
As predicted, TRAs are doing their best to ensure that men are put front and centre today, but it is so brilliant to see women pushing back, with direct action happening throughout the UK, as well as all of the #womenseizetheday tweets! Well done everyone!
Call for Evidence – Women’s Health
Women have the opportunity to share their experiences of the health and care system in England, as Government launch a call for evidence with the aim of improving these services.
The call for evidence will run for 12 weeks from 8th March, and the information you provide will help shape the new Women’s Health Strategy, which will ensure services are meeting the needs of women.
The Witchcraft Act
In Scotland, 2,500 people (mainly women) were murdered under The Witchcraft Act from 1563 to 1736. The population of Scotland was approximately 1 million at the time. Claire Mitchell, a Scottish QC, has lodged a petition for these people to be pardoned, an apology given and a national memorial to respect the memory of those convicted of witchcraft.
