Call for inquiry into “Stonewall Law”
Women have faced disciplinary action from their employers for asserting their sex based rights and questioning gender identity. A letter to the Sunday Times titled “Stonewall does not make the law” describes how women have faced complaints and action against them for reasons including defending JK Rowling, asking questions during equality training and saying men cannot be lesbians. Stonewall’s Diversity Champions scheme, which covers 25% of the UK workforce has led to many companies adopting policies which punishes people for not accepting “Stonewall Law”. They call on the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) to leave the scheme. A full open letter to the EHRC can be read here. Sex Matters is calling for an inquiry into the influence of Stonewall in public life.

A UK exam board is proposing renaming the ‘Women in Literature’ English A level course with ‘gender in literature’ or ‘representing gender’.
