Canadian Nurse under investigation for being gender critical
Amy Hamm, a nurse and founding member of Canadian Women’s Sex based rights (caWsbar) is being investigated by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) for sharing gender critical views and sponsoring an “I ❤️ JK Rowling” billboard. Activists accused Amy of ‘transphobia” and targeted her career as a nurse, saying she was unsuited to the role and should be removed from her current and future positions. The complaints are not from patients or related to Amy’s performance in her job, she was targeted because of her open support for women’s rights. Despite this, the complaints have been taken seriously and referred to the BCCNM Inquiry Committee for further investigation. The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) is defending Amy against these vexatious and unfair complaints.
“The Justice Centre and Ms. Hamm are concerned that activists are now weaponizing the professional regulatory regime to intimidate opponents and punish opinions outside of a narrow orthodoxy, thrusting professionals into a stressful and often lengthy disciplinary ordeal which they are told they may not discuss.”
Once again a woman’s career is being threatened because she has stood up for sex based rights and spoke basic truths.
Trans debate article
MPs Jackie Doyle-Price and Miriam Cates have written an article titled “The trans debate: Women are standing up for their rights, not declaring a culture war.”
“Implying that this is a “culture war” is to debase what is a valid fightback by women against the erosion of our rights, our descriptive language and our spaces. An aggressive agenda is currently being pursued by a number of organisations – including Stonewall – resulting in legitimate concerns…”
The article is open to comments and this is a good opportunity to share your views and also send a copy to MPs.
