The 8th March 2021 will mark the 110th International Women’s Day; a day to celebrate women’s achievements and to raise awareness of ongoing inequalities.
Last year, there were arguably successful attempts to hijack the day. Trans rights activists claimed the dictionary definition of the word woman was a “transphobic dog whistle”, organisations renamed the event “International Womxn’s Day” and transwomen (males) were chosen to be the lead speakers at women’s events.
Efforts to centre males this year have already started.
Being a woman is not a feeling. Around the world, women and girls are subjected to horrendous trauma; forced marriage, rape and sexual assault, female genital mutilation, and domestic violence at the hands of men. This is not because we “identify” as female, but because we are female. Our biology has an impact on our lives.
This year, we will be making it clear that International Women’s Day is for WOMEN, and by women, we mean adult human females. To do this, we need as many women as possible to stand up to the coercive and bullying tactics of transgender rights activists and their attempts to shoehorn men into the forefront of the conversation.
