Today is the first day of Lesbian visibility week. We hope this can be a week to celebrate and amplify their voices.
Many lesbians have felt under attack in recent years with homophobic concepts like the cotton ceiling being used against them. Not only are many people ignoring this homophobia, organisations like Stonewall are being complicit in pushing gender ideology, abandoning the very people they were set up to advocate for. Lesbian bars and spaces are becoming increasingly rare and get labelled exclusionary. Many women have received hate online and in-person for asserting their same sex attraction.
Organisations such as LGB alliance are putting lesbians first and pushing against harmful ideologies. Two of the founders Kate Harris and Bev Jackson are lesbian campaigners who have decades of experience in fighting for LGB rights. Kate and Bev talk about the need for the LGB alliance here.
Here is a great thread celebrating inspiring lesbians.
